Bayern Munich banking on Podolski

Munich, Germany (Sports Network) - New Bayern Munich coach Jurgen Klinsmann is determined to bring out the best in Germany forward Lukas Podolski next season.

The 23-year-old impressed for his country at Euro 2008, having struggled to make his mark at Bayern after joining from Koln a year ago.

However, Kilnsmann is keen to work with Podolski and help him emerge as a major star at the Allianz Arena.

"I said before the European Championship that I am absolutely banking on Lukas," Klinsmann told a Munich newspaper. "Lukas has so much potential, so much in him, that it has to still be further developed.

"That he suffers under the situation is absolutely understandable and it is up to me to give him a prospect of getting his games.

"I have told him you are not allowed to run away from the situation now. His quality is so high, we are not going to let that get away."
