Bayern Munich plans to keep Lahm

Munich, Germany (Sports Network) - Germany international Philipp Lahm will stay with Bayern Munich until at least the end of next season, according to the club's chief executive Karl-Heinz Rummenigge.

The 24-year-old is currently involved in contract extension talks with the club, but Rummenigge insists Lahm will remain at the Allianz Arena next season even if discussions stall.

"It is certain he will remain here until the end of his contract with us, even if it should not be extended," said Rummenigge. "We have held productive, open and fair talks. He would be well advised to go further with us.

"We are very happy and contented with him. We do know what he means to us and he knows as well what we mean to him."
