Boca protesting Nayar's move to Recreativo

Andalusia, Spain (Sports Network) - Spain's Recreativo agreed to four-year deal to sign Argentine midfielder Sebastian Nayar from Boca Juniors on Wednesday, but the South American club is protesting the move.

Boca reportedly have Nayar under contract until 2012, but Recreativo announced on its website the player's deal at Boca expired on June 30.

"Nayars former club, where his contract ended on June 30, wanted to hang on to him through an extension which is to all intents and purposes invalid," the La Liga club said on its website.

"Recreativo will ask the [Argentina Football Association] for the transfer documents in the near future to be able to register him in Spain, and if the AFA do not send them we will seek provisional approval through FIFA."

Nayar, 20, has made just one appearance for Boca Juniors.
