Bolton signs Davies to new three-year contract

Bolton, England (Sports Network) - Bolton striker Kevin Davies has signed a new extended three-year contract to keep him at the Reebok Stadium until the summer of 2011, the club announced Thursday.

The 31-year-old frontman has been with Bolton for five seasons, having joined from Southampton in the summer of 2003. He has gone on to score 41 goals in 208 appearances for Bolton in all competitions.

Davies had said at the start of the month: "I'm settled here so it's just down to myself and the club.

"I'm very positive about it, so hopefully we can get something tied up by the start of the season."

Davies had previously been linked with a summer move to Hull City, but Trotters boss Gary Megson was always adamant that he did not want to lose one of his key performers.
