Boro's Hoyte hopes for chance with EnglandMiddlesbrough, England (Sports Network) - New Middlesbrough signing Justin Hoyte believes his move away from Arsenal will boost his international chances. The $6 million signing believes his switch from being a peripheral figure with the Gunners to Boro's first team can lead to a first call into the England senior side.
The former England Under-21 international fullback could make his debut for the
Teessiders in Saturday's trip to Liverpool. "I'm delighted to have come to a club like Middlesbrough - there's a great set- up here," he said. "Hopefully I can impress the manager and play regular football because that's what I need if I am to realize my biggest ambition and play for the England senior team. "I had no expectations of ever leaving Arsenal, but when Middlesbrough's offer came in I sat down with Arsene Wenger and we had a chat about the situation. "I decided to come to Middlesbrough and have a look at the set up and as soon as I came here I knew that the move was right for me. I met Gareth Southgate and was absolutely delighted to hear what he had to say. "His ambitions to take the club forward are impressive and I think he is going to be a very successful manager, so it is great to come here." (Courtesy of sportbox.tv)
