Celtic hopeful of Nakamura stayGlasgow, Scotland (Sports Network) - Celtic remain confident they can persuade Shunsuke Nakamura to stay at the club even though the influential midfielder has intimated that he wants to return to Japan. The 30-year-old, whose Celtic Park contract is due to expire next summer, has said he would be keen to return to his homeland in the January transfer window.
"Celtic would be more than happy for Shunsuke to stay here for as long as he
wants and certainly we want him to remain here until the end of the season,"
chief executive Peter Lawwell said in the Daily Record. "But his agent has intimated Shunsuke would like to return to Japan at some point." (Courtesy of sportbox.tv)
