Chelsea's Bosingwa suffers thigh injuryLondon, England (Sports Network) - Chelsea defender Jose Bosingwa looks set to miss the opening Premier League game of the season against Portsmouth in less than three weeks' time after picking up a thigh injury in a preseason tour of Asia and Russia. The 25-year-old Portugal international sustained the problem in the first half of the friendly clash with Guangzhou Pharmaceutical and a scan has revealed the extent of the injury.
Chelsea boss Luiz Felipe Scolari said: "He is out for two weeks minimum for
treatment and he won't be able to play for three weeks. At the moment, he is
out of the first game against Portsmouth. "But I have players who can cover. I played with Paulo (Ferreira) here, (Michael) Essien also played there for 30 minutes, and they both played very well so it is not a problem for us." Bosingwa moved to Stamford Bridge from FC Porto in May for about $32 million after penning a three-year contract with the Blues. (Courtesy of sportbox.tv)
