Chelsea rolls over Bordeaux in Champions LeagueLondon, England (Sports Network) - Frank Lampard had a goal and two assists and Chelsea rolled to a 4-0 win over Bordeaux at Stamford Bridge on Tuesday on the first day of group play in the Champions League. Lampard, who will play against Manchester United this weekend in England after
having his suspension overturned, opened the scoring in the 14th minute. Lampard's goal was set up by a few quick passes in midfield, starting when Deco found Cole, who then found Jose Bosingwa down the right side. Bosingwa swung a cross to the middle of the area and an unmarked Lampard headed inside the left post. Cole doubled the lead in the 30th minute, shaking off Bordeaux defenders Franck Jurietti and Fernando to head Lampard's corner kick into the right side. Chelsea, which lost the Champions League final to Manchester United in penalty kicks last season, was in cruise control with the two-goal lead. The English giants put the French club away late when Lampard made a nice flick behind his leg to spring Malouda, who hammered a shot off the left post and in. Anelka capped the impressive win in the 92nd minute, following a rebound to tap in his first goal of the tournament. Juliano Belletti set up the goal by taking a long-range shot that was deflected off the crossbar by Bordeaux goalie Ulrich Rame. Chelsea goalie Petr Cech didn't have to make a single save. In Rome, Emmanuel Culio scored twice to help CFR Cluj rally from an early hole to stun Roma at Stadio Olimpico. Christian Panucci put Roma in front in the 19th minute, but Culio tied the game in the 28th minute and added the game-winner in the 49th. In Group B, Italian champion Inter Milan got goals form Alessandro Mancini and Adriano to open with a 2-0 win over Panathinaikos in Athens. Mancini opened the scoring in the 27th minute and Adriano sealed the win in the 85th. Werder Bremen settled for a 0-0 draw at home against Anorthosis at Weserstadion in the group's other match. In Group C, Rafael Marquez sparked Barcelona to a 3-1 win over Sporting Lisbon at Camp Nou. Marquez, a defender, scored off a powerful header in the 21st and Samuel Eto'o and Xavi added goals in the second half. Shakhtar Donetsk opened with a win thanks to goals from Fernandinho and Jadson in a 2-1 win over Basel at St. Jakob Park in Switzerland in the group's other game. In Group D, Sergio Aguero scored twice to lead Atletico Madrid to an easy 3-0 win over PSV in the Netherlands, and Steven Gerrard scored twice as Liverpool rallied from an early deficit to edge Marseille 2-1 in France.
