Cottagers sign Dutch starlet

London, England (Sports Network) - Fulham have agreed a deal with Fortuna Sittard to sign Danny Hoesen, according to the Dutch teenager.

Hoesen, 17, was invited to London for a trial by Cottagers boss Roy Hodgson earlier in the summer and now claims to have agreed a permanent move from the Dutch second division.

The Netherlands U-17 international impressed Hodgson during the club's pre- season tour to Germany.

"It's all gone quickly but if a team from the Premier League wantS you, you should not doubt yourself," he told his current club's official website.

"Scouts of Fulham have seen me in action with the Dutch U-17 team in a tournament in Spain.

"After the game, against Czech Republic I think, Fulham have contacted my agent.

"The first week I trained at the academy in London, then we departed to Germany for three friendly matches. That was very nice, with four goals and four assists.

"I'm glad that everything is completed before the start of the youth competitions in England.

"I will start with the U-18 team, but the trainer has already indicated that there is a possibility that I may soon join the second team."
