Deportivo's Valeron ready after two-year absence

Madrid, Spain (Sports Network) - Deportivo midfielder Juan Carlos Valeron was cleared to return from a two-year absence from serious knee injuries Tuesday.

Valeron, 32, suffered a series of major knee injuries over the last two years. He tore the cruciate ligament in his left knee in January of 2006 and returned six months later only to tear the ligament again in an exhibition.

Valeron, who has played 46 times for Spain, returned from the second operation in January of 2007 but had to undergo a third surgery due to more knee pain.

Deportivo, which hosts Real Valladolid on Sunday, is 19th in the league and in danger of relegation.
