Fulham stands by coach Hodgson

London, England (Sports Network) - Fulham have dismissed reports suggesting manager Roy Hodgson is about to be moved upstairs to be replaced by John Collins.

Several newspapers had suggested that Hodgson would pay the price for a run of only two wins in 15 games since he took over from Lawrie Sanchez in late December.

However, a statement on the club's official website read: "The club would like to inform supporters that articles which appeared in Tuesday's Times and Daily Mirror newspapers are untrue.

"Unfounded speculation concerning our football manager's position is unhelpful, particularly at a time when the club is focused on preparing for this weekend's important fixture at Reading."

Former Cottagers midfielder Collins was linked with a return to Fulham earlier this season, after he chose to leave Scottish Premier League outfit Hibernian due to concerns about the Edinburgh's club's future plans.
