Grant expects Terry, Drogba to play in finalLondon, England (Sports Network) - Chelsea coach Avram Grant expects both John Terry and Didier Drogba to be fit for the Champions League final on May 21. Both captain Terry and main striker Drogba suffered injury scares in the final game of the Premier League season on Sunday.
Terry was stretchered off in the early stages of last weekend's 1-1 draw with
Bolton after dislocating his elbow, while Drogba required heavy strapping to a
knee problem picked up just minutes from full-time. However, Grant is confident that he will have both key players available for the showdown with Manchester United in Moscow. "We have not had training (Tuesday) or (Monday) so we have to wait until training (Wednesday) to see how they are," Grant told Sky Sports News. "John Terry I think will be okay. Didier Drogba, I don't know how serious that is, but I think he will do everything possible to play in this game." Meanwhile, Grant claims he in unconcerned by continued speculation suggesting he will be replaced in the summer. "I have always said, even when I first took the team, I have to focus on my job, not what other people say," he said. "What I must now do is concentrate on the (Champions League final) and not look to the past or the future." (Courtesy of sportbox.tv)
