Gretna will play at Almondvale Stadium

Gretna, Scotland (Sports Network) - Crisis-club Gretna will play their next two Scottish Premier League home games at Livingston's Almondvale Stadium.

The Black and Whites existence is threatened by a financial meltdown, but at least they have a place to play after being given permission to play Celtic on Sunday and Inverness on April 5 at the home of the first division club.

Gretna had been ground-sharing at Motherwell's troubled Fir Park home this season.

However, with Motherwell themselves attempting to move its own home games away from the waterlogged Lanarkshire ground after a host of postponements, Gretna have also been forced to seek an alternative.

"This is the most difficult and unprecedented fixture situation that we have faced," claimed SPL chief executive Lex Gold. "Our priority over the past weekend has been to confirm the arrangements for Gretna's match against Celtic, which will now take place in Livingston.

"Arrangements are also now in place for Gretna's match against Inverness and we thank Livingston, and the other clubs with whom we have been in discussion, for their assistance.

"The remaining Gretna home game against St Mirren will be allocated in the coming days.

"Further developments in relation to Motherwell's other home games will depend on the work currently being done to assess when Fir Park will be available again for our matches."
