Harris ignites Goats' 3-goal explosion in win over D.C.Carson, CA (Sports Network) - D.C. United looked well on its way to earning a much needed road win at Chivas USA on Saturday night in a Major League Soccer fixture, until the wheels came off. With a one-goal lead with less than 20 minutes to play, United (2-6-0) allowed the Goats to score three goals in under 10 minutes to take a commanding lead en route to the 3-1 victory. Marcelo Gallardo scored his third goal of the season for United to get things going at the half hour mark with a brilliant cutback and blast from about 30 yards out to give the visitors hope heading into the break. But coming out in the second half, United sat back hoping to protect the lead until Chivas USA forward Atiba Harris took over the game. The Goats got the equalizer when Eric Ebert passed into the United penalty area to Harris who slid in to knock ball away from goalkeeper Zach Wells. Veteran Jesse Marsch then tapped in for his second goal of the season. Less than three minutes later, Chivas USA (2-4-2) got the go-ahead goal when Harris drove into box and fired a cross to midfielder Sacha Kljestan, who one- timed a shot past Wells for his fourth goal of the season. Harris set up Jorge Flores for his first professional goal six minutes later to close out the scoring. D.C. will try to put its league leading six loss behind it when it travels to Toronto on Wednesday before hosting TFC on Saturday in its next two league fixtures. The Goats are back in action next Saturday night when they travel to Colorado to take on the Rapids.
