Hertha Berlin signs Brazilian Kaka


Berlin, Germany (Sports Network) - Hertha Berlin coach Lucien Favre has snapped up Brazilian defender Kaka from Portuguese side Academica de Coimbra.

The 26-year-old centre-back has joined the Bundesliga outfit for an undisclosed fee on a four-year contract.

Hertha have already strengthened their squad for next season with the capture of midfielder Marc Stein from relegated Hansa Rostock.

"I'm glad that Hertha have offered me a contract," Kaka said. "The Bundesliga is one of the strongest leagues in Europe and I am excited about the challenge."
