Kerr leaves Dundee United to join AberdeenAberdeen, Scotland (Sports Network) - Aberdeen has won the race to sign Dundee United's Mark Kerr, after Dons boss Jimmy Calderwood had all but given up on being able to land the midfielder. Calderwood thought that the 26-year-old would take up an offer to move to England, but Kerr has now opted to make the switch to Pittodrie.
"There was a bit of interest from England and the lad rightly wanted to
consider all of his options, so I was convinced we had lost out on getting
him," Calderwood told the Daily Record. "In fact, I phoned him last weekend to wish him all the best in his new career, only to discover he still hadn't made his mind up where to go. "As soon as I knew there was still a chance I was pleasantly surprised to say the least and moved quickly to get things sorted out. "He is just coming into his prime, so I'm really chuffed to have got him signed up." (Courtesy of sportbox.tv)
