Killie takes over top spot in ScotlandDundee, Scotland (Sports Network) - After finishing in the bottom half of the Scottish Premier League table last season, Kilmarnock is now in first place through four games after beating Dundee United 2-0 at Tannadice Park on Saturday. Gavin Skelton and Daniele Invincibile scored the goals for Killie, which has yet to concede a goal in its first four games. Dundee United, meanwhile, is still searching for its first win and currently resides near the bottom of the table.
Skelton got the visitors on the scoreboard 40 minutes into the game when he
got on the other end of a David Fernandez cross from the right wing and
redirected the ball into the upper left corner for a 1-0 lead. Invincibile then doubled the lead in the 59th minute with a well-placed left- footed shot from the middle of the box that found the bottom corner of the net. Killie's surprisingly strong back line then took over, allowing just one shot on goal the entire match. Hearts won for the third time in four games as the team got goals from Marius Zaliukas and Andrew Driver to hand Hamilton its second straight loss, 2-1. Inverness scored twice in the second half for a 2-1 comeback win against Falkirk, which has now lost its first four games, Motherwell got past Hibernian 1-0 on a goal from John Sutton in the 79th minute and Darren Mackie's first-half goal was enough for Aberdeen to beat St. Mirren 1-0.
