L.A.'s Buddle among seven added to All-Star rosterNew York, NY (Sports Network) - Los Angeles Galaxy forward Edson Buddle, who is tied with teammate Landon Donovan as the top scorer in Major League Soccer, was one of seven players added to the league's All-Star roster Tuesday. Buddle was added to the team as one of Commissioner Don Garber's two selections and was joined by Houston's Dwayne De Rosario - the other pick by Garber - and Pat Onstad, Colorado's Christian Gomez and Pablo Mastroeni, New York's Juan Pablo Angel and Toronto FC's Jim Brennan.
The MLS All-Star Game is July 24 against England's West Ham United at BMO Field
in Toronto at 7 p.m. (ET). The seven new selections join the First XI, which is highlighted by Donovan and David Beckham. Buddle and Donovan each have 11 goals this season, while Beckham has five goals and six assists. Surprisingly, D.C. United forward and reigning MLS Most Valuable Player Luciano Emilio was left off the roster. Emilio was left off the roster last season when he led the league with 20 goals and his 10 goals so far this season wasn't good enough to earn a spot either. New England coach Steve Nicol was responsible for choosing the other five picks to add to the final 18-man roster. Emilio still has a chance to be added to the roster if players are unavailable due to injury, international duty or other commitments. Following is the complete 18-man MLS All-Star roster: Goalkeeper: Pat Onstad (Houston Dynamo), Matt Reis (New England Revolution). Defenders: Jim Brennan (Toronto FC), Jimmy Conrad (Kansas City Wizards), Frankie Hejduk (Columbus Crew), Michael Parkhurst (New England Revolution). Midfielders: David Beckham (Los Angeles Galaxy), Cuauhtemoc Blanco (Chicago Fire), Dwayne De Rosario (Houston Dynamo), Christian Gomez (Colorado Rapids), Shalrie Joseph (New England Revolution), Sacha Kljestan (Chivas USA), Pablo Mastroeni (Colorado Rapids), Robbie Rogers (Columbus Crew). Forwards: Juan Pablo Angel (forward, New York Red Bulls), Edson Buddle (Los Angeles Galaxy), Kenny Cooper (FC Dallas), Landon Donovan (Los Angeles Galaxy).
