Liverpool signs Insua to three-year dealLiverpool, England (Sports Network) - Liverpool has handed teenage Argentine defender Emiliano Insua a new three-year contract. The 19-year-old South American initially joined the Reds in November 2006 on loan from Boca Juniors before sealing a permanent move six months later.
Insua has made five first-team appearances for Rafael Benitez's side and will
now remain at Anfield until at least June 2011. He was a key part of Liverpool's second-string side that won the FA Premier Reserve League (North) title last season. The teenager has been capped at various levels by his country and was part of the Argentina side that won the Under-20 World Cup in Canada last year. Benitez has previously described the diminutive fullback as "a good, young player with a lot of potential." (Courtesy of sportbox.tv)
