Madrid captures Garay from RacingMadrid, Spain (Sports Network) - Real Madrid has confirmed the signing of defender Ezequiel Garay from Racing on Monday. The 21-year-old Argentinean has cost the newly-crowned La Liga champions a reported $16 million and his arrival is expected to lead to the departure of either Fabio Cannavaro or Christoph Metzelder.
Garay was heavily linked with a move to Liverpool last summer before opting to
remain at El Sardinero. "We've signed Garay," confirmed Real president Ramon Calderon. "He is a young player and the signing is proof of our desire to create a young, committed team full of enthusiasm and ambition." (Courtesy of sportbox.tv)
