Madrid earns win over Espanyol


Madrid, Spain (Sports Network) - After falling behind, 1-0, in the first half, Real Madrid came back to top Espanyol 2-1 in Spanish La Liga action on Saturday.

The La Liga leaders fell behind thanks to a Valdo goal in the first half, but Gonzalo Higuain and captain Raul scored second half tallies to help the club extend its lead to eight points over second-placed Barcelona, who play on Sunday.

In other La Liga action on Saturday, Zaragoza earned a 2-1 victory over Atletico Madrid.
