Marseille acquires Akale on loan from LensMarseille, France (Sports Network) - Marseille acquired striker Akale on loan from French Ligue 1 rivals Lens on Thursday. Akale will take a physical before completing the switch, Marseille said on its website. If Akale passes his physical, he will be on loan to Marseille for six months.
Marseille has an option to buy Akale, 26, on a two-year contract at the end of
the loan. The Ivory Coast international didn't score in nine games with Lens. Marseille is 11th in the league standings, 14 points behind first-place Lyon, and has just 20 goals in 19 games. Lens is in the relegation zone, but just five points out of ninth place.
