Palermo fires Colantuono, reinstates GuidolinPalermo, Italy (Sports Network) - Palermo fired manager Stefano Colantuono on Monday and reinstated former boss Francesco Guidolin following the club's 5-0 defeat at the hands of Juventus on Sunday. Palermo is currently eighth in the Serie A standings, but has won just one of its last eight games.
Colantuono was hired in June by Palermo after he guided Atalanta to an eighth-
place finish, while Guidolin will be starting his fourth stint with the club. In his first term with Palermo, Guidolin helped the team earn promotion to Serie A, and he also led Palermo to a spot in UEFA Cup qualifying the next year. Palermo travels to Catania Calcio on Sunday for Guidolin's first game before hosting fifth-place Fiorentina.
