Parma fires coach Cuper before season finaleParma, Italy (Sports Network) - Serie A strugglers Parma have sacked coach Hector Cuper ahead of their decisive last league game of the season. Argentinean Cuper only took charge at the Ennio Tardini in early March, but has been unable to mastermind a move out of the drop zone since succeeding Domenico Di Carlo. Andrea Manzo will coach the final game of the season.
"Parma FC communicate that they have relieved Hector Cuper of his duties as
coach of the first team," read a statement from the club. "We give our thanks to Cuper and his assistant, Gustavo Siviero, for the intense work that they undertook with competence and commitment. "The technical responsibility for the first team will be given to Andrea Manzo, coach of the Parma FC youth team and he will be on the bench on Sunday against Inter." Cuper won just two of his 10 games in charge and Parma must win at home to league leaders Inter Milan on Sunday to have any chance of beating the drop. (Courtesy of sportbox.tv)
