Podolski slammed by Hoeness

Munich, Germany (Sports Network) - Bayern Munich general manager Uli Hoeness has hit out at striker Lukas Podolski for his continuing complaints over a lack of first-team action.

The 23-year-old has made just four starts for Bayern this season, despite having shown up well during recent outings for the German national team.

Hoeness snapped: "He has had his chances and he has not taken them. There are three players who perform well for us and the national team and one who doesn't.

"The national team is a different story. Eighty percent of their games are against really average opponents."
