RSL edges Chivas USA for first road win

Carson, CA (Sports Network) - Real Salt Lake recorded its first road win of the season on Saturday night, edging Chivas USA, 1-0, at the Home Depot Center in Major League Soccer action.

Speedy RSL forward Robbie Findley capitalized on a mistake by Goats' goalkeeper Dan Kennedy - who was starting for Brad Guzan because of his participation as the backup for the U.S. national team in a World Cup qualifier on Sunday - for the only goal of the game.

Neither team really got going in the first half with a Kenny Deuchar header on Kennedy in the 25th minute being the first shot of any kind of the game.

Less than 10 minutes later, Findley was able to get the game winner, however, when midfielder Kyle Beckerman played a ball behind the defense after receiving a pass from Javier Morales. Findley ran onto the ball ahead of defender Carey Talley, touch around Kennedy, who came off his line early, and fired into an open net.

RSL only took one more shot in the game while the Goats took a total of four before the final whistle.

Real Salt Lake (4-5-3) hosts San Jose on Wednesday while Chivas USA (4-6-2) hosts Chicago a day later in their next league fixtures.
