Real Salt Lake's Findley named player of the week

New York, NY (Sports Network) - Real Salt Lake forward Robbie Findley was named Major League Soccers Player of the Week for Week 10 on Monday night.

Findley was the catalyst in Real Salt Lakes 3-1 win Saturday over the San Jose Earthquakes. Findley entered the game just before halftime and scored the first goal of the game in the 48th minute and assisted on Javier Morales 60th minute game-winning goal.

"I've got to hand it to Robbie, he came into the game and started the game for us with a goal and an assist," Real Salt Lake forward Kenny Deuchar said.

This is the first player of the week award for the 22-year-old Findley, who joined Real Salt Lake last June in a trade with the Los Angeles Galaxy. Last season, Findley led all MLS rookies with eight goals and was Reals Golden Boot winner with six.

Findleys player of the week honor is the first for a Real Salt Lake player since former forward Jeff Cunningham garnered the award for his two-goal effort in RSLs 2007 season opener against FC Dallas.
