Sevilla plans to keep goalie PalopSeville, Spain (Sports Network) - Sevilla has revealed its determination to keep highly-rated goalkeeper Andres Palop at the club. The Andalucian club turned down a bid from La Liga rivals Valencia to re-sign their former keeper earlier in the week and sporting director Ramon Rodriguez Verdejo has revealed they have no plans to sell the experienced keeper.
Palop spent 10 years at Valencia after progressing through the ranks at the
Mestalla, but has see his career take off since joining Sevilla in 2005. "We do not want Andres to go and he, his agent and Valencia know that," said Verdejo. "Andres will stay here. We are going to leave it there." Meanwhile, Sevilla are expected to confirm the capture of Lyon's France international defender Sebastian Squillaci next week. (Courtesy of sportbox.tv)
