Turkey extends Terim's contract

Istanbul, Turkey (Sports Network) - Turkey extended the contract of coach Fatih Terim two years to 2012 on Tuesday.

Terim led Turkey to the semifinals of Euro 2008, but he said he would probably step down after the tournament. He will now lead Turkey through the 2010 World Cup and the Euro 2012 tournaments.

Turkey advanced to the Euro semifinals for the first time, winning three games in a row after trailing. Turkey was ousted in the semifinals by Germany, 3-2.
