West Ham's Ferdinand set for Sunderland switchLondon, England (Sports Network) - West Ham's Anton Ferdinand is set for a move to Sunderland, after Hammers boss Alan Curbishley revealed that his club had accepted an offer for the central defender. The 23-year-old is reported to be valued in the $15 million bracket, with Curbishley confirming that talks about a new contract had stalled at Upton Park.
He told BBC Radio 5 Live: "The board have accepted the bid, he's not
renegotiated his contract and the decision was taken out of my hands. "I don't know where Anton is in terms of signing for Sunderland, but once the club accept the bid it moves on." Curbishley had said late last week that Ferdinand was unlikely to be going anywhere, as he remains sidelined by a hamstring injury. (Courtesy of sportbox.tv)
