Wigan's Edman hopes to return in mid-OctoberManchester, England (Sports Network) - Injured Wigan Athletic defender Erik Edman is hopeful of making his comeback in mid-October. The 29-year-old Sweden international arrived at the JJB Stadium in January, but ruptured his ACL in only his fifth match in a Latics shirt.
Edman has spent a frustrating five-month rehabilitation period on the sideline,
but has revealed he could be back in action by mid-October. "It's nice to be back and out running," he told the club's official website. "I've started to do some outside work and some running as well as some small exercises with the ball and I hope to be able to join in with the boys - hopefully in around eight weeks. "I am looking forward to seeing the boys play Chelsea this weekend. But of course everyone prefers to be out on the pitch and that is no different for me." (Courtesy of sportbox.tv)
