Wagner still in front; Scott withdraws in Houston

Humble, TX (Sports Network) - Johnson Wagner stayed atop the leaderboard after the second round of the Houston Open was completed Saturday morning.

A long weather delay on Friday set play back, but after an hour's worth of action on Saturday, the second round was completed with Wagner three ahead at 12-under 132.

Defending champion and first-round co-leader Adam Scott withdrew before the start of the third round. He cited the illness that has bothered him all week and with the Masters on Thursday, the Aussie took no chances.

Mathew Goggin (64) and Charley Hoffman (70) are knotted in second place at minus-nine.

Chad Campbell needs a win at Redstone Golf Club to get into the field at Augusta next week. He is alone in fourth at seven-under 137 after a second- round 64.

Like Campbell, Wagner needs a victory this week to get to the Masters. It would mark Wagner's first PGA Tour title.

The players are in threesomes off both the first and 10th tees for the third round.

Reigning U.S. Open champion Angel Cabrera (145) and last week's winner in New Orleans Andres Romero (153) missed the 36-hole cut, which came at even-par 144.
