Blake, Tursunov reach Indy semifinals

Indianapolis, IN (Sports Network) - Top-seeded American James Blake and defending champion Dmitry Tursunov advanced to the semifinals Friday at the $525,000 Indianapolis Tennis Championships.

Blake, who captured this event in 2006, beat Taiwan's Yen-Hsun Lu, 6-2, 6-0 on the hardcourts at the Indianapolis Tennis Center, while the third-seeded Russian Tursunov rallied to top Chile's Paul Capdeville, 3-6, 6-3, 6-1.

Tursunov, who beat Canadian Frank Dancevic in last year's Indy final, will now play Blake on Saturday. The only other time Blake played Tursunov was in the Davis Cup final last year, a three-set victory for Blake.

In other quarterfinal action, second-seeded Frenchman Gilles Simon overcame fifth-seeded oft-injured German Tommy Haas 4-6, 6-4, 6-2 and fourth-seeded Sam Querrey held off fellow American Bobby Reynolds 6-1, 3-6, 6-3. Simon was down a set and 1-3 before mounting a fierce comeback against Haas on Day 5.

The 2008 Indianapolis titlist will pocket $83,500.
