Davenport rolls in Miami openerMiami, FL (Sports Network) - Former world No. 1 American Lindsay Davenport was an easy second-round winner Saturday at the $3.77 million Sony Ericsson Open. The 32nd-seeded three-time major titlist Davenport drilled France's Camille Pin 6-2, 6-1 on Day 4 at Crandon Park.

Sequera 6-2, 6-1, while 10th-seeded Russian Elena Dementieva dropped Ukrainian
Kateryna Bondarenko 6-0, 6-4. Thirteenth-seeded Russian Dinara Safina whipped Canadian qualifier Aleksandra Wozniak 6-2, 6-2, while Chinese Jie Zheng posted an upset by besting 14th- seeded Russian Nadia Petrova 2-1, as Petrova retired three games into the match due to a right quad strain. Other second-round wins came for 18th-seeded Austrian Sybille Bammer, Czech Lucie Safarova and German Sabine Lisicki. Safarova upset 31st-seeded Italian Karin Knapp 3-6, 7-5, 6-0. The 2008 Miami champion will collect $590,000.
