Davydenko downs Robredo for Warsaw title

Warsaw, Poland (Sports Network) - Top-seeded Nikolay Davydenko handled second-seeded and defending champion Tommy Robredo in straight sets during Sunday's final to win the $670,000 Warsaw Open.

The world No. 4 Davydenko routed Spaniard Robredo 6-3, 6-3 at Warszawianka Sport Club. The victory gave Russian Davydenko his third title of the year, second on clay. Davydenko pocketed $104,000 with the win.

Davydenko captured this event, in Sopot, two years ago, while Robredo defeated 2002 champion Jose Acasuso in last year's finale and also captured this tournament in 2001 in the former host city, Sopot.

The 27-year-old Davydenko improved his lifetime record against Robredo to 5-2.
