Hantuchova, Pennetta land in Sunfeast QFsKolkata, India (Sports Network) - Second-seeded Daniela Hantuchova and seventh-seeded Flavia Pennetta were among Thursday's second-round winners at the $175,000 Sunfeast Open. The Slovakian Hantuchova humbled Russian Anastassia Rodionova 6-2, 6-1, while the Italian Pennetta pasted Uzbekistan's Akgul Amanmuradova 6-1, 6-3 on Day 4 at Netaji Indoor Stadium. Hantuchova was last week's Bali runner-up to American Lindsay Davenport.
Hantuchova's quarterfinal opponent on Friday will be eighth-seeded Yung-Jan
Chan of Taipei, while Pennetta will encounter fourth-seeded Russian beauty
Maria Kirilenko. In other second-round play, Ukrainian Mariya Koryttseva cut down American Vania King 6-1, 6-2, while Belarusian Tatiana Poutchek pounded Swede Sofia Arvidsson 6-3, 6-1 and Britain's Anne Keothavong drilled Indian wild card Sunitha Rao 6-3, 6-2. The other quarters will pit Koryttseva against Poutchek and Keothavong versus Israeli Tzipora Obziler. The 2007 Sunfeast titlist will pocket $25,855.
