Ivanovic, Jankovic advance to quarterfinals in ParisParis, France (Sports Network) - Second-seeded Ana Ivanovic and third- seeded Jelena Jankovic both won their respective matches on Sunday in straight sets to advance to the quarterfinals at Roland Garros. The 20-year-old Serb rolled past unseeded Czech Petra Cetkovska 6-0, 6-0 in just 54 minutes. Ivanovic, the Australian and last year's French Open runner- up, played a near perfect contest, ripping her forehand, serving big and with variety, keeping her backhand steady and jumping on her inexperienced foe's second serves.
This becomes the second love-love result of the women's tournament, and
Ivanovic's first such victory since May 2005. Ivanovic's stellar play thus far shows she is determined to capture her first major title. She has dropped only 15 games through her first four matches and has yet to lose a set. Ivanovic will face the winner of the Katrina Srebotnink-Patty Schnyder fourth-round match. Jankovic handled 14th-seeded Pole Agnieszka Radwanska 6-3, 7-6 (7-3). Jankovic continued to battle through a right arm injury, which she received earlier in the tournament. The 23-year-old Serb, also in search of her first major title, will face Spaniard Carla Suarez Navarro in the quarterfinals. Navarro posted a 6-3, 6-2 victory over Italian Flavia Pennetta in their fourth-round match to advance to the quarterfinals.
