Kirilenko, Stosur advance to final in SeoulSeoul, Korea (Sports Network) - Top-seeded Russian Maria Kirilenko and Aussie Samantha Stosur both won semifinal matches Saturday at the $145,000 hardcourt Korea Open. Both, however, took different routes to the championship match. Kirilenko, who was runner-up here in 2007, won the first set against third-seeded Estonian Kaia Kanepi before losing the second. Kirilenko eventually battled to a 6-4, 3-6, 6-4 victory.
Meanwhile, the unseeded Stosur cruised to a 6-0, 6-1 win over veteran American
Jill Craybas. Stosur has won two of the three WTA matches against Kirilenko, with the most recent coming at the 2007 French Open. The 2008 Seoul champion will claim $22,900.
