Aussie Samantha Stosur outlasted German Sabine Lisicki 6-4, 6-7 (4-7), 6-3, while Russian Ekaterina Makarova mauled Czech Klara Zakopalova 6-3, 6-2. Stosur and Makarova will meet in the round of eight.
