Vaidisova, Bondarenko reach DFS quartersBirmingham, England (Sports Network) - Third-seeded Czech Nicole Vaidisova and fifth-seeded Ukrainian Alona Bondarenko were among the third- round winners at the $200,000 DFS Classic, a grass-court Wimbledon tuneup. Vaidisova came from behind to beat 15th-seeded Russian Ekaterina Makarova 6-7 (5-7), 6-2, 6-4, while Bondarenko overcame Indian qualifier Sunitha Rao 3-6, 7-5, 6-1 at Edgbaston Priory Club. Rain delayed the start of play here on Day 4.
Bondarenko's sister, Kateryna, also landed in the round of eight with a 4-6,

Additionally, Czech Petra Cetkovska topped France's Camille Pin 6-4, 6-7 (5-7), 6-3, New Zealand's Marina Erakovic erased Russian qualifier Yaroslava Shvedova 6-3, 7-5, and American Bethanie Mattek mauled Thai Tamarine Tanasugarn 6-4, 6-2. Friday's quarterfinals will pit Vaidisova against Mattek, Alona Bondarenko versus Erakovic, Kateryna Bondarenko against Cetkovska and Wickmayer versus South. This week's winner will collect $31,000.
